Attack Attack! New Frontman!

Attack Attack! was a great addition to the hardcore scene with excellent breakdowns, technologic beats, and screaming vocals combined with autotuned clean vocals. It was a new type of genre (crabcore) that sprung out and wowed everyone. They lost their original frontman screamer (Austin Carlile now of Of Mice&Men) and replaced him with Nick Barham, who I seen them at Warped Tour and he sucked. It made me loose respect for the band in all. I also remember 1st getting into them and watching their studio vids, and saw the keyboard player Caleb Shomo screaming in the studio and originally thought he was the original screamer. Well that is the case now, as Nick Barham left the band 2 days into their headling tour "Shred Til Your Dead" tour with I Set My Friends On Fire, Miss May I, and Our Last night. Caleb now retired his keys to scream for the band, and its not bad, although Austin will never be topped for that band. They currently play a new song live titled Sexual Man Chocolate that should be on their MySpace soon. Until then check out the live am footage.

It was a decent year, I'm not gonna lie. Hey, yeah I mean it was a rocky road for me this year between dealing with a crazy ex girl friend who got into my business and ruined shit with 2 girls I liked, I got arrested and it ran me over 2Gs, I broke my nose, hours got cut at my job, and so on. But other then that it was a decent year all around, for the summer atleast. Party after party, drink after drink, girl after girl, and then fall comes and you hit the slump! BOOM! but the year aint over kids, lets celebrate a decent year to have a great fall/winter of 09..

As a man of all music, you know I have to hit up a concert when the line-up is Escape The Fate, Atreyu, and Hollywood Undead. You seen my blog entry about a month and a half ago on the Vatos Locos tour and seen how excited I was. Now I wonder if I doubt the whole fact of ever going. I've been to Warped Tour and Bamboozle, prolly 2 festival/tour(s) that you see people bleed out of their foreheads, noses, and other breakable stitchable body parts.. Well I became one of "those" kids, even though at Warped and Boozle, the kids are there to HIT you. This concert wasn't really that bad, but eventually got out of control. I may have a broken/fractured nose, but until tomorrow's X-Ray results I won't even know. Here's the process I've been going through since the incident..

Bring Me The Horizon: Suicide Season CUT UP

UK heavy metalcore band, Bring Me The Horizon is pulling a Linkin Park with their most recent release, Suicide Season, which was already a different take on their music from their previous albums. The remix album is titled "Suicide Season - Cut Up" and features techno, punk, and rap remixes but some of the biggest names in those genres to BMTH's last album. So far only one song was released via MySpace and is remixed by trance DJ Tek-One. It's a sick blend of hardcore trance and metal.. screaming and insane beats WOW who woulda thought? The album also features Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes, The Secret Handshake, Sonny the original frontman from From First To Last, the clown from Slipknot, and much more.

iPhone MMS Finally Arrives

With such a powerful phone with so much hype behind it, the iPhone 3G didn't have alot of things that some of even the most suckiest phones on the market have. Examples would be a video camera, a flash or zoom on the camera, picture messaging, landscape text, voice recorder, etc. That was of course all solved with the release of the iPhone 3Gs, a new model of the 3G which features a video camera, voice recorder, and the iPhone 3.0 software, which can be downloaded onto the older iPhones which includes MMS, landscape texting, faster internet, and a voice recorder. But! when you downloaded the long but worthy update for the phone, you didn't get MMS (picture/video texting). It was delayed and would be in an update that was supposed to be in "Late July" but recently just came out on the 25th of Sept. Make any sense? no. Anyway if you have an iPhone im sure you're all happy for the picture messaging without emails, because i know I do! FINALLY!!!

If you've listened to Attack Attack! you would think of heavy breakdowns with techno beats and screaming over it with auto tuned choruses. If you think Escape The Fate you think a little less lighter on the vocals, yet can get heavy, with insane solos and easy riffs. Now if you think of a collabo between the 2 you would expect say, an insane form of post-hardcore screamo music with Craig Mabbitt screaming and singing over their incredibly gay new lead screamer Nick Barham. Well, its not what you think, but its insane. I love techno music and this is what this is. Caleb Shomo. the keyboard player from Attack Attack! has done a sick techno beat with Craig Mabbitt singing over it. Check it out, its worth it if you are fans of both, and isn't one of those I HATE EVERY TYPE OF MUSIC CEPT METAL PWNED!!!

Wolfenstein Review

I used to play Return To Castle Wolfenstein hard body on the Xbox. When i heard that a new Wolf was coming out for 360/PS3 I creamed my pants. I was like OMG! I cant wait. Now we all know 360's LIVE network is mainly taken up by Gears, Call Of Duty, and Halo but Wolfenstein does have somewhat of an online community. It's fast paced and plays like Call Of Duty 4. You DO NOT regenerate health tho, as it is very team based and you need to rely on medics and engineers for health and ammo packs. So if you dont like the whole "I cant hide in a corner and regenerate my health" then you either need some skill or dont buy this game.

Aside from multiplayer, the single player is somewhat promising. The veil is a good use of some type of magic feedback. Slowing down time, running faster you know the deal.

Other than that for this quick review.. if you want a decent FPS with decent multiplayer.. pick up Wolfenstein, you wont be disapointed if you're tired of COD or Halo..

Music To Check Out: A Day To Remember

Ok so I'm a little late because well, A Day To Remember is getting enough buzz as it is. They have finally topped over 100 million plays on myspace. They are def a band you need to look out for in 2010. I can already see them playing mainstage on warped next to Devil Wears Prada again, they deserve it. They will def be Bamboozle mainstage material too, their crowds are huge and moshpits are insane. They deliver the pop punk feel of some bands like New Found Glory or Blink-182 and throw in that breakdown metalcore sound as such bands like As I Lay Dying or Lamb Of God bring into their music. Its an odd sound, but like most bands weird new stuff makes them bigger and famous.

Now ADTR was causing alot of buzz with their 2nd album with songs such as "A Shot In The Dark" and their single "Plot To Bomb The Panhandle", but once their new album "Homesick" came out and released their single "Downfall Of Us All", they kinda created some sort of mainstream buzz with themselves. Now you wont see them on like TRL or anything, but I can already see this band is gonna top the charts like their friends The Devil Wears Prada who peaked at number 11 on the Billboard 200, which isnt something you always see from a post-hardcore band that is usually only seen playing side stages at Warped Tour. Check out some of these videos and you'll see what I mean about this band you need to check out!

That's not a countdown, unless you want it to be. That;s the date for the new Call Of Duty, Modern Warfare 2. About a month ago I peeped this video (when I wasn't in my blog mode and straight in the twit addiction) for the MW2 multiplayer gameplay, which is def one of the reasons I want this game so bad. It has customizable kill streaks!?!?! I dunno if that really is good or bad, since we don't have much info on it, but I'm sure you wont be able to have a helicopter or dog attacks for 3 kills in a row, lets hope not at least. They also introduce the AC130 gunship as a killstreak prize, which lets you take control of it and destroy some muthafuckaz online. But watch out, one heat seeking rocket will put you down on the floor, so get as many kills as you can! It also introduces sticky grenades and other bonuses. Other than that, we're gonna have to wait till November! I wonder if they'll be nazi zombies? If not I just picked up Wolfenstein and will be giving you the review for that tomorrow!

Bands/Artists To Check Out #1: blessthefall

I love all types of music, espically some of this screamo shit. Now at first I couldn't stand screaming in music, I would be like um? you can't understand them so why bother to listen? But I've learned to appreciate something from every genre...

This is why I bring you to blessthefall. They lost their original frontman, Craig Mabbitt half way thru one of their tours due to his addiciton to alcohol. He left the band and it was too late when he tried to return. He then went to try out for A Skylit Drive who also lost their frontman, but accidently called the manager for Escape The Fate who was another band who was frontman-less. Now ETF is great, but they'll never compare to BTF's breakdowns and screaming that makes them enjoyable and great music to behind your beer pong YouTube videos lol.

Now they have a new singer, Beau Bokan, who is right up their with Craig. I enjoy the 3 new songs I've heard off their upcoming album, Witness, and believe me you'll be anxious for the album, it def sounds better then blessthefall's debut album, His Last Walk, who wasn't as professionally made.

They came out with "To Hell And Back" months ago to preview their new sound with Bokan. Now their first single is out titled "God Wears Gucci" and is now available via iTunes. If you don't feel like buying it listen to the track here, or wait to buy their 2nd LP, Witness in stores 10/6/09!

My Bad Habit Helped Others PT.1

as you all know i fucked with graffiti for quite some time. i started "bombing" in 2003 and didnt really get "up" until 2005. i did quite some damage, nothing that i ever wanted to achieve, but i was still known some how. i got arrested in 2006, and didnt learn my lesson. i took a break in 2008 for parties in college, and then it all kicked back up again. i got chased at the end of 2008 and it scared the shit outta me and had no idea what to do after my boy who was with me got bagged. cops were at my door 2 weeks later accusing me of a video i made in 2007 and wanted to get me for that, they had no idea about that night some how. they would harass me every week on my phone accusing me of different things. i always told them off but they came to my job in Feb09 and i was fucked. i saw them in the corner of my eye while i was talking to my friend (who's tat is pictured below) and was like damn, its over. after community service, fines, lawyer fees, court fees, acd, and other stresses that this caused me this year i decided its not worth it, let me use my graf to good works. my friend came up to me and wanted me to design her next tat. i was like u want bubble letters? and shes like no a handstyle, which was always my specialty in graffiti styles. heres the tat..

now i am currently drawing up a handstyle for emilio sparks' next tat as well as a shirt design for the upcoming staten island clothing company, cloud kicker original. ill be sure to post those as soon as they come thru. my tat will also be come around end of sept.
